Objectives: To evaluate the prevalence and characteristics of ocular findings in a sample of Iraqi patients with (BJHS). Patients and Methods: This cross-sectional study included 100 patients diagnosed with BJHS according to Brieton criteria and another 200 healthy controls matched in age and sex. Demographics were collected, and full ophthalmological examination was done on both groups. Results: Prevalence of refractive errors was 78% of them: myopia was 49%, followed by astigmatism 20%) and hypermetropia 9%. The other identified ocular manifestation was dry eye (15%), while anterior & posterior blepharitis 5% and 4% respectively. Pigment dispersion syndrome was diagnosed in 3% of patients and the cataract was 2% of BJHS patients. All previous findings were statistically significant except cataract not reach to statistically significant level. Conclusions: Ocular findings in BJHS were relatively common. The most common BJHS-related ocular findings were myopia followed by astigmatism and hypermetropia. Dry eye symptoms, anterior and posterior blepharitis, pigment dispersion syndrome and cataract are rare in patients with BJHS.References

Objectives: The study aimed to assess the relationship between fibromyalgia syndrome and its related symptoms with acne vulgaris in a sample of Iraqi patients. Patient and method: One hundred acne patients and one hundred age- and sex-matched apparently healthy individuals were enrolled in the study. A special questionnaire designed for the purpose of the study was used for recording information from the patients and controls. The 2012 Canadian Guidelines for diagnosis of fibromyalgia were used to diagnose FMS among patients and controls and acne severity was assessed using Global Acne Grading System method. Results: This study showed that there was a three-folds increase in the risk of developing fibromyalgia syndrome among acne patients compared to normal individuals (12% vs. 4%). Moreover, widespread pain, cognitive disturbance and anxiety were significantly higher among acne patients compared to healthy individuals. It was found that there was a four times increase in the risk of having fibromyalgia syndrome with the increase in the duration of acne. In addition to that, widespread pain, anxiety and cognitive disturbance increase significantly with the increase in its duration. Conclusions: fibromyalgia syndrome was more common in acne patients and increase with the increase in acne duration. Keywords

Ninety (90) subjects were included in this study, Fifty (50) of them (patient group) were diagnosed as established RA patients according to the 2010 American College of Rheumatology/European League Against Rheumatism (2010 ACR/EULAR) classification criteria for Rheumatoid arthritis who were attending the rheumatology outpatient clinic of Baghdad teaching hospital, and compared with 40 apparently healthy control group. TT allele had the highest association with RA while AT allele had the weakest association with RA, whoever, all these alleles did not associated significantly with RA. The study shown that there was no significant difference in the galactin-8 gene polymorphism between RA and control. Keywords
